Branch School - Enderamulla
     

On the 10th of January 1996 his leadership Dr. Oswald Gomis the Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo ceremonially declared open the newly built two stored build of St. Joseph’s college branch school at Enderamulla in a plot of land donated Mrs. Esther Seneviratne and her family members in memory of the late Mr. Wilfred Seneviratne who was an old Josephian. This school started with two teachers 70 students and two classes of grade 1. Presently we conduct 22 classes up to grade 11 consisting of 829 students with a tutorial staff of 35. Our first priest in charge was Rev Fr. Sudath Gunathilaka and first head mistress was Mrs. Bernie Perera who is still with us after a short spell abroad Rev Fr. Sudath rejoined us. During his absence Rev Fr. Kennedy and Rev Fr. Sam Perera were the priests in charge of this school.

Rev Fr. Stanley Abeysekera the Rector who spared no pains in establishing of this school and handed over the reins in 1996 March to Rev Fr. Victor Silva. Rev Fr. Victor Silva accepted the challenge and showed a keen interest in the development and expansion of the school. The present Rector Rev Fr. Sylvester Ranasinghe took over the reins from Fr. Victor Silva in October 2005. Rev Fr. Anthony Fernandopulle was appointed as the new Principal of the Enderamulla Branch School.

Financial assistance was given by His Grace the Arch Bishop of Colombo Rev Dr. Nicholas Marcus Fernando. The Catholic Business Community and the Old Boys Union of Ja-ela Wattala.

Enderamulla branch has made a speedy & steady progress during the short period of 10 years of existence. At present it is equipped with 4 new buildings that provide adequate facilities for Catholic Education..

In order to foster Christian values among the students prayerful atmosphere in the school has been created. Sports and games form an integral part of the school curriculum. The school is making a special effort to improve the sports activities. To develop the students information technology a fully equipped computer laboratory was built with the donations of the Old Boy’s of Ja-ela Wattala Branch.

The school development society consisting of parents, teachers, old boys play a key role in the welfare of the school. The parents display a very active part in the welfare and well being of the school.
